Toyo Tires® Holds ISO 9001:2000 Certification

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corporation in Cypress, Mira Loma and Ontario distribution centers in California hold certificates to the new ISO 9001:2000 certification. ISO spans 148 countries, with national standards institutes based in each country. ISO 9001:2000 is the most recent standard set forth, which dictates that certified companies conform to a Mission and Quality Policy resulting in a measurable output.

Toyo maintained the previous ISO standard 9002:1994 version for six years. Mr. Shozo (Carlos) Kibata, President during the certification process to the new standard, defined the company’s Mission “To distribute tires to our customers with customer satisfaction as our goal.” In addition, Toyo Tires “Mission and Quality Policy” includes parameters for: a Quality Policy for employees, a Quality Objective with a sales oriented goal of customer satisfaction, a Quality Strategy which includes establishing an efficient organization, and a Commitment to Quality resulting in the improved effectiveness of a business/quality system.

According to Mr. Yoshimoto, Toyo Tire (USA) Corporation’s current president, “We are pleased to meet the certification requirements for ISO 9001:2000 standards, as it supports our company’s goal to provide quality in every area of our business, from management practices to customer satisfaction.”

Toyo manufactures and distributes a complete line of high performance and original equipment replacement tires for passenger car, light truck, commercial truck, bus, off-road and construction applications.
