For the 2006 season, Toyo Tires® has joined forces with The Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) to bring this exciting action sport to the public. The UFC® features an international contingent of fighters engaged in one-on-one combat using a combination of mixed martial arts, boxing, kickboxing and wrestling to defeat their opponent. UFC® events take place both at the Mandalay Bay and Hard Rock Hotels in Las Vegas, as well as the Arrowhead Pond, in Anaheim, California. Tournaments are broadcast live on Pay-Per-View, with select matches airing on Spike TV. Toyo Tires® logos appear on the mat as well as bumpers in the famous arena known as The Octagon™, a high-sided ring that surrounds opponents to guarantee constant action. In addition to Toyo Tires® being “The Official Tire of the Ultimate Fighting Championship®”, the company also sponsors UFC® fighters such as Matt Hughes and Tim “The Maine-iac” Sylvia. Sylvia recently regained the Heavyweight Championship Title during the UFC® 59 “Reality Check” in an exciting come-from-behind bout over Andrei Arlovski.
